Works like Magic!

I am hanging up now…. on my home phone

Good-bye home phones, step aside Skype and Vonage. The “Magic Jack” is in the house, actually in the house of many people across North America. My parent’s just picked one of these up and once they told me what this product does I automatically assumed scam and had a quick couple words with my mom.

Me- “yea okay what’s the catch mom”

Mom- “…. There isn’t one son?”

Me- “Mom deals like this don’t exist, you have been scammed”

Mom- “Okay go to the computer and see what you can find and let me know”

Me- “Yep will do, you’ll thank me later”

Readers….she still is not thanking me, that is because the deal as crazy as it may sound is for real. Allow me to tell you what this is so you can be blown away also. A “Magic jack” is a device with a USB port that plugs into a computer and a phone jack that plugs into a standard phone, which allows the user to make phone calls. This includes unlimited local calling, unlimited long distance, free directory assistance, free 911, call waiting and caller ID. Okay that’s a lot of stuff you’re getting, what your thinking is (yep this probably costs a fortune), allow to erase those thoughts and blow your socks. It is 39.95 for your first year and then only 19.95 for subsequent years! Anyone who pays a phone bill right now is doing back flips, because this puts whatever you have to shame, you’re are most likely paying more and getting less. To answer the question you don’t need to be at your computer to use this it comes with a regular phone that you would use in your house right now, a cordless I might add. Do not be surprised if you (if you have not already) start hearing about this “Magic Jack” because I can guarantee when the mass people get wind of this and look into the product, the home phone as you know it will be “hung up” as it were. Give it look for yourself www.magicjack.com and say hello to the future of home phoning.

Younger, Richer….Smarter?

How Young?...I'm Sorry How Much?

Last night I saw a preview for the new “Social Networking” movie about the rise of Facebook. I learned Facebook started out in a dorm room by a student attending Harvard. This amazed me, a young student and his classmates not much older than I am created the largest social networking site in the entire world! That’s a big deal considering this program has completely changed they way people connect and communicate, if you do not have Facebook I guarantee you know somebody who does. Mark Zuckerberg (co-founder of Facebook) has an estimated 4 billion dollar net worth to make the point more astonishing he is only 26 years old. WOW! Does that not blow anyone else’s mind?  The even crazier part is he is not alone; there is a long list of very rich entrepreneurs younger than the age of 30. Example: YouTube an extremely popular video sharing site that I am sure you have all used or least heard off.

They grow up (get rich) so fast

The computers have brought on so many changes in the last decade including these young entrepreneurs creating websites of all kinds. People are getting richer at a younger age and they seem to continuously get younger. So what is the deal are we getting smarter? I don’t think so; actually I feel we are probably being sent the opposite way with all the time we are spending on these machines. My take on the situation is simple, we can be honest here the generation now is way more tuned in with the computer (no secret), I mean we have basically grown up on these machines and kids at a very young age know them inside and out front to back, however I think that is a problem all on its own, we should not be investing the time we do on a computer (I am hypocrite in the sense of that statement) but that is a whole other issue. I don’t foresee the trend of young entrepreneurs slowing down at all in the future, I actually see it growing, as you read this think there is probably a student or young person coming up with the next best thing in their parents basement or in the classroom that will sweep across the world, but I guess we will see (sooner than later I assume, I mean Facebook is already 6 years old? That is ancient in internet years)
Let me know what you think on the entire topic, the young and rich or even the youth on computers, I want to here what you have to say.

Leafs Fans, Loyal or Looney?

Leafs Nation

145,355, no that’s not how many years the Leafs have gone without a Stanley cup but trust me its close, that’s the number of Facebook followers “Leafs Nation” has and that is just their Facebook that’s probably not even close to the amount of actual fans they have. If you take into account the older generation fans not caring if they follow the leafs via Facebook or not, (not to offend anyone or stereotype) I live about 2 hours west of Toronto so when my buddies and I want to watch an NHL game we take a quick trip down the 401 and head for the “Air Canada center” home of the beloved maple leafs. I bring this up to emphasize my point about the fans being either loyal or looney, it’s not a cheap or easy task to go watch these boys play. I mean they basically sell out EVERY GAME! Witch I would not find strange if they were good? Or even remotely good like play-off contender good but ya know…… they’re not!

Looney Tunes? Looney Leafs?

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate the Leafs however I am not exactly what you would describe as a fan either. I am just wondering why the following has not died off slightly? (Besides the fact we are Canadian) They have actually grown in fan base, that’s wild! The Leafs are tied for first with the Kings and Blues for longest Stanley Cup drought of 42 Years! They also lead the league in cup final drought with 42 years. So not only are they not winning the cup they have not even been showing up, 42 years? So they double my age plus some since they have won. WOW, are you leafs fans ready to rip out your hair? Especially those fans born in 1968 just a year after their final win, like mom you could not have had me one year earlier! That has to be tough.

On the verge

With all that being said I also need to add in the fact that under general management of Brian Burke I really feel the team is headed in the right direction. They are no longer a team full of players coming out of their NHL prime and close to retirement, but rather a fast paced young team with the potential to have explosive talent. Is the anxious waiting and hunger for the cup final going to end for these looney fans? My feeling is yes, this team is going to be able to contend and make a splash. However with such a talented blast of teams in the east including the Penguins lead by Sidney Crosby and the offense overload Capitals Captained by Alexander Ovechkin, the road to the cup could be difficult for them but as these fans have proved time in and time out…….they can wait it out.

Nude hot yoga anyone ?

Hello everyone i am kyle mcconnell publisher of the " eye magnet" blog.

So first thing this is my first ever blog ! exciteing stuff. Secondly if you read my bio you would know i am a marketing student trying to learn about digital marketing and blogging is an aspect in the feild so i am learning to get a feel for it, ill be writting to to you guys about somthing i thought was cool or intresting so here we go.

The last few weeks or so ive been trying to earn money towards school. So my girlfriend hooked me up with her step father working on renovateing their yoga studio. Now i am not much for yoga, with that being said ive only gave it a go twice so maybe i have not giving it a fair chance? back to the point of this blog i am sitting in the lunch room at work and take a glance down at the table , its a yoga magazine (no suprise) i quickly look over its cover and i see "nude hot yoga". Okay i know from working at the studio hot yoga as you may have guessed is yoga in a room very hot causeing you to sweat out the toxins in your body. I am right away intrested in this article i mean i gotta see what it is all about, who would'nt ? Its different and new. I go on to read that a studio in new york is practicing nude hot yoga and also now in Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. Meaning it is somthing that is catching on and growing, I am an opened minded kind of guy and people who feel comfortable doing this all the power to them, i think it's great that people are doing new things and starting trends. Though It is getting mixed feelings, some people think it is great form of yoga and some people just dont see the point of it, I dont think its a bad idea however personally i dont know if i would feel comfortable in my own skin doing a downward dog nude, ( Thats a yoga pose where your hands and feet are flat on the ground and make a V shape with your body) if i attend yoga anytime soon i am content being fully clothed, not that is is not intresting just not for me. Hot yoga is good for the body and whatever you wear, or not wear..... is up to you ! Check out their website if your intrested. http://www.hotnudeyoga.com/
